The Position
Power Purchase Agreement Manager For RenewablesJob Summary
The global position is within the Purchasing organisation, reporting to the Group Energy Director, working closely with the Regional Category Managers of Energy, Operations and the industrial Plants.
The PPA Manager will work with renewables Developers in the different markets and will act in liaison between the finance, legal and environmental teams, making sure Imerys secures low carbon sourcing at a competitive rate, with long term price visibility.
Main tasks & Responsibilities
Define a strategy of PPAs, aligned with Group Energy strategy, by region, by country, taking in account carbon footprint targets, purchasing priorities and hedging policy
Implement PPAs: on-site, sleeved, virtual PPA
Make sure technical requirements are fulfilled
Evaluate different business models and appropriate economic analysis with the risks associated and sensitivity analysis
Lead commercial negotiations and deal structuring with potential third-party developers
Manage internal and external stakeholders: third parties, public entities, finance, legal, operations
Address some particularities: IFRS16, incentives from local authorities, net-metering, subsidies, tax exemptions…
Get the contracts signed, adapted to the needs, aligned with requirements and global standards for PPAs
Help in the standardisation of PPA process and legal contracts
Manage portfolio of PPAs based on internal needs: benefits, ease of implementation, risks
Assessment of Performance
Contribute to the IMERYS Group carbon reduction footprint roadmap of 36% by 2030
Support IMERYS Group Purchasing collective target by delivering specific savings
Required Experience, Skills & Education
Knowledgeable on Power Purchase Agreement, demonstrated deep knowledge of renewable energy project and ancillary technologies
Recognized Business/ Engineering school
A significant experience Power Purchase Agreement
Analytic (able to do data analysis) and Synthetic (able to design presentations with impact)
Project management skills: organised, time conscious, result oriented
Autonomous, creative, articulate, strong interpersonal & influencing skills
Ability to work with colleagues in different parts of the World (EMEA, US, Brazil, China, India…)
Fluent in English (any other languages appreciated)
Ability to travel worldwide up to 30%
