The Position

Operational Excellence Lean Engineer Europe

Job Summary

ROLE

  • Leads cross-functional teams to define and execute I3 continuous improvement program in order to improve hub cost competitiveness and efficiency of processes, practices and organizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deploys and sustains Industrial Continuous Improvement program within the Hub (Industrial & supply chain operations) : improving Working conditions with MUST HAVES and generating margin improvement

  • Cultivates and promotes a strong continuous improvement culture across the hub.

  • Supports analysis of processes and practices to enable safety / efficiency / quality continuous improvement initiative generation, also with the support of  BA I-Cube CoE team.

  • Generates detailed continuous improvement initiatives across the plants of the hub to generate savings with the cooperation of “I3 champions” and plant managers. 

  • Leads effective operational processes’ implementation at hub level

  • Provides technical support, training and expertise to on-site teams for I-Cube deployment and improvement projects

  • At hub level, monitors progress of continuous improvement projects and related savings, including process management improvement, process modification, energy optimization

  • Facilitates the network of local opex in his hub

  • Maintains and creates appropriate documentation for reports, project execution, and data analysis 

  • Supports Operation Sites & Supply Chain team members to support continuous improvement deployment

  • Captures and communicates learning to enable best practice transfer within his/her hub and the other hubs

  • Is based on the lead site of the hub and can be acting as local I3 Opex on this site.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • MUST HAVES implementation (level of maturity) at hub level

  • Operational costs reduction & Operational costs savings pipeline at Hub level

  • Reliability / OEE improvement at hub level

  • Best practices sharing at hub level

PROFILE

Key competencies 

  • Good Continuous Improvement culture and able to learn very fast methods (project management, Kaizen, 6-sigma, value stream mapping, Fish-Bone diagram, working capital optimization)

  • Strong Analytical skills  and Problem solver skills

  • Good Project Management skills

  • Able to quickly develop technical / process expertise

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to positively influence teams in a matrix organization

  • Able to organize training paths for managers of  the hub

  • Green belt is a plus

Ideal background/ experience

  • Engineer or equivalent

  • Good level of English (B2 minimum)

  • A first experience in Operations Management and Operational Excellence program management or operational experience in a continuous improvement environment

Typical profile

  • Process/production/supply chain engineer.

  • Former continuous improvement manager
