The Position

Quality Control Manager Multi-Sites

Job Summary

Your Mission

You will be responsible for ensuring, developing and maintaining quality control standards for our 7 sites in Germany, France, Netherlands, Sweden and Italy, which serves the core market Refractory solutions.

The role is located in Neuwied (Germany) or Sezanne (France).

In the frame of a challenging and international transformation project implementation aimed at bringing benefits to everyone interacting with the Group, especially for customers with greater focus on Quality processes and customer-driven innovation efforts, as Quality Control (QC) Multi-sites Manager, you will be responsible for managing quality control operations for your scope but also acting on one dedicated site. 

You will report to the EMEA Opex & Quality Director of the Business Area and will coordinate Quality Control activities for each site of the perimeters.
 

Your Responsibilities 

  • Ensure the manufacturing production lines run smoothly and generate a consistently suitable output of products that set standards of quality, reliability and performance

  • Set and implement internal/external quality requirements to ensure company products/services meet customer expectations

  • Ensure continuous manufacturing process improvement for higher-quality goods

  • Define quality & control procedures, associated documentation and ensure appropriate implementation on each site of the hub 

  • Manage in-process and finished product inspections and ensure they are managing on each site

  • Conceive, improve and review products and processes new specifications

  • Maintain effective collaboration with Quality local teams for quality improvement opportunities identification 

  • Maintain effective cooperation and communication with different markets segments, production, sales and purchasing (global/local) departments

  • Define relevant monitoring indicators to ensure production and QC improvement  

  • Analyze deviations recorded by Production/quality. Deploy an improvement plan at site level to tackle the head of pareto

  • Create and implement Quality Management Documentation (ISO 9001) related to QC processes 

  • Manage Supplier performance by controlling/inspecting raw material delivery and track supplier non conformities compliance

  • Analyse customer complaints (quality) and propose associated corrective actions for repeated failures or unreliability of quality, if necessary in collaboration with S&T

  • Liaise with customers, auditors, and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications

  • Perform internal audits upon management request, after customer complaints or major issues

  • Manage quality team to ensure procedures and standards implementation and data systems  management 


 

Your Profile

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Chemical or equivalent

  • Knowledge of the refractories industry (including raw materials and formulations) and/or our customers’ operations in the different market segments

  • Certified Quality Manager or other advanced quality certification

  • Six Sigma Green Belt - preferred

  • Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) - preferred

  • Problem Solving Techniques: 8D, A3, Brainstorming, Ishikawa (Cause & Effect), 5 Whys

  • Experience with APQP or DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) procedures and techniques
