The Position

APAC Business Planning & Supply Chain Analyst

Job Summary

The APAC BP & SC Analyst will be part of a team including the following functions: Sales & Operations Planning, Supply Chain, Customer Services. Reporting to the regional BP & SC Vice-President with a dotted line to the Finance organization, she/he will support the team by building the processes and tools then by collecting and analyzing business planning & supply chain data. She/he will also contribute to ad hoc projects (e.g. greenfields, financial business cases, cost optimization projects).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support to Supply Chain & Customer Service activities:

  • Create processes and methods to gather supply chain & customer service data (e.g. logistics costs/ton, inventories, number of customer complaints). 

  • Establish performance measurement, KPI reports and tracking on supply chain’s performance prior to monthly performance reviews. 

  • Conduct data analysis to identify problematic areas and suggest improvements to the team

  • Set a Logistics/Freight P&L

  • Measure & analyze financial performance of Supply Chain operations 

  • Plan and implement logistics optimization projects (e.g. route planning, loading/unloading planning)

  • Develop and set-up training materials, SOPs, RACI charts for supply chain processes with relevant teams

  • Train and guide the team on supply chain activities through set-up, implementation phase. Follow-up through implementation phase for governance and sustainability purpose

  • Discover the most cost-effective shipping modes and schedules

  • Evaluate vendor operations (e.g. freight forwarders) according to quality standards and communicate with Purchasers

  • Collaborate with IT professionals to implement effective systems, report developments & enhancements

Support to Business Planning:

  • Create processes and methods to gather Business Planning data (e.g. OTIF, plant capacity utilization, margins)

  • Support product managers in reviewing the financial business case of their projects (e.g. NPV, IRR, ROI, Payback)

  • Support business development potentials by providing Supply Chain costs insights and analysis

  • Calculate statistical forecasts on supply chain costs impact to the business (i.e. Freight Costs forecast projection)

EDUCATION:

  • BSc/BA in Supply Chain , Business Analytics, Finance, Mathematics or a related field

TYPICAL PROFILE:

  • Controller

  • Logistics Analyst / coordinator

  • Business Analyst (or M&A analyst willing to move to a Corporate role)

  • Consultant in Operations optimization / Manager in a Big4 (with strong acumen in finance processes and coding)

EXPERIENCE:

  • >5 years experience

LANGUAGES:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, conversing in other language ie Chinese and/or Japanese and/or Thai is an added advantage
