The Position

Business Planning Director

Job Summary

Role

  • Ensures the coordination & alignment of all functions included Top management in terms of delivery of mid and long term business targets and improved customer satisfaction. 

  • Manages the S&OP team while developing  across all the BA the culture of Business Planning for all time horizons (short, mid & long run) 

  • Scope: Business Area Performance Minerals EMEA representing 1.1 billion turnover, 80 plants, 25 countries, 4 markets

Responsibilities

  • Leads the S&OP process (Demand review, Supply review, Reconciliation..), aligned with the Imerys Business ambitions.

  • Facilitates the monthly BA executive S&OP meetings (senior management decision making meeting),  is able to articulate the key decision making process, writes Executive S&OP meeting minutes, communicates key conclusions to stakeholders and ensure execution of follow-up of actions

  • Supervises the S&OP process in the Business Area (BA) with the support of a team of 4 S&OP managers and 1 S&OP Continuous Improvement manager. 

  • Develop and maintain an accurate demand forecasting process, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information from Markets and Finance, for multiple time horizons.

  • Defines and ensures with his/her team that key S&OP KPIs are maintained

  • Challenges Market segments on demand and get their sign off as a first step of the S&OP process

  • Build a valuable cross-functional knowledge of markets, industrial assets, and products to be able to provide an independent view on any business planning topic.

  • Develop the skills of the S&OP team (data management, analytics, meeting lead, communication...), and polyvalence. 

  • Promote effective collaboration within S&OP team, within other PM EMEA teams. Be sure that the other BAs needs are well integrated in the S&OP process

  • Continuously review the S&OP process to ensure it suits business needs and is up to date with best practices.

  • Key interfaces: strong partnership to be built with (i) Markets, (ii) Product management, (iii) Supply Chain, (iii) Operations; (iv) Purchasing; (v) Finance

  • Reporting to: Business Area Business Planning & Supply Chain Vice President

  • Direct Reports: 5 including 4 Sales & Operations Planning Manager and 1 Inventory & Continuous Improvement Manager

  • Location: Paris preferred

Key competencies

  • Good / practical understanding of S&OP best practices

  • Experience in S&OP process management

  • Advocate for data integrity & very good analytical skills

  • Problem solver and ability to propose solutions

  • Project management 

  • Strategic understanding and thinking

  • Very good interpersonal skills, Strong communication skills (English at least) and collaborative mindset

  • Managerial capabilities both in direct and cross functional management.

Ideal background/ experience

  • 15 years of experience in various Business Planning and Supply Chain organisation.

  • The ideal candidate has to have a wide view of the Supply Chain and Business Planning.
