The Position
Site Manager CorsicoJob Summary
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Site Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the Plant within the various economic constraints, including contractors’ management, production planning, logistics and coordination with Supply Chain function. He/she will also manage operations by complying with the environment, health and safety regulations and quality certifications.
He/She will have the responsibility to:
Ensure the plant is operated according to the local corporate Environment, Health and Safety regulations and Internal procedures of the Group.
Maximize product quality and throughput of the plant.
Set and monitor budgets and expenses annually and ensure that costs are controlled
Fully understand and continuously improve the production processes by applying Lean Manufacturing methods and I-Cube systems.
Responsible for execution & management of any CAPEX projects on the site
JOB SCOPE/DIMENSIONS
Part of the Business Area Performance Minerals EMEA
PM EMEA industrial footprint: 80 sites in 24 countries - 3700 employees - €1.2b revenue.
Plant is situated in Corsico
Manpower of 17 employees.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all health and safety functions required by local and company regulations, including
all applicable mandatory Code of Practices, risk assessment programs, occupational
hygiene programs and any other programs required to ensure effective health and
safety management for the site
Ensure that all applicable statutory requirements are met in terms of the proper operation,
running and maintenance of machinery at the plant and as required under the
EHS rules
Continuously adapt production and workforce to logistics requirements to ensure optimum
delivery time in coordination with the Supply Chain Department at BA level
Set and monitor budgets and expenses annually and ensure that costs are controlled.
Ensure, on a daily basis, the cost control of the production operation comply with approved
cost budgets
Responsible of all required reporting on his/her perimeter
Ensure proper maintenance are carried out to minimize downtime and maximize working
efficiency of equipment and processes
Lead, train, mentor, motivate and discipline when appropriate site team
Manage suppliers to secure raw materials deliveries in quantity and quality in order to fulfil
customer need in time
Legal representative of Imerys Minerali Corsico for local authorities and responsible to maintain good relationship with authorities & communities and represent the interest of the Company towards regional and local authorities.
COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
Education and Experience requirements
• Engineering degree: MSc / BEng in either industrial, mechanical or process. Ideally second degree in Management/Commercial.
• Good knowledge of all operations aspects (Safety, Production, Quality, Process, Capex…)
acquired during a solid hands-on experience (8+ years) within a manufacturing/industrial/mining
environment).
