The Position
Product Stewardship ManagerJob Summary
Mission:
The Product Steward is responsible for achieving the company’s Product Stewardship objectives for High Temperatures Solutions product. This position requires interaction with customers, suppliers, global government agencies, industry associations and employees at all levels within the organization.
This role has overall responsibility for the product stewardship programs, ensuring that business objectives and compliance requirements are met.
He/she supports the organisation to contribute to business growth and sustainability regarding all aspects of product stewardship including product compliance, material and product safety, product footprint, and sustainable design.
Responsibilities:
Ensure Regulatory Compliance of HTS products in markets/geographies of interests towards license to operate and/or product application related regulations/directives
Ensure a proactive monitoring of regulations impacting HTS markets and products and raise early awareness of potential regulatory short to long term impacts for the company within the organization relevant stakeholders
Provide regulatory support to internal departments and teams
Product Safety & Communication
Ensure BA’ Safety Data Sheet (SDS) development and labeling accuracy, consistency/harmonization and compliance with legal requirements in countries where products are sold. Harmonize SDS authoring rules within the BA according to regulations and Imerys policy. Proactively track and understand regulations impacting SDS at global level. Implement any non-standard information, warnings and sentences within the SDS database. Check site formulas are compliant with SDS information
Risk assessment of the BA’s (current or under development) product portfolio from a Health, Safety, Environmental, and Liability standpoints together with EHS leaders for current product portfolio and S&T leaders for new product developments. Draw potential impact and support in planning and executing an appropriate and timely business response and mitigation plan
Responsible for timely and accurate product safety/product stewardship communications to both external/internal customers inquiries.
Assessment of new raw materials for regulatory compliance
Support Product Stewardship Company Strategy
Support the development and implementation of Product Stewardship tools, processes according to Group procedures and strategies.
Support in maintaining a consistent and comprehensive product stewardship program for HTS products worldwide.
Support in managing all aspects of product stewardship along the entire supply chain through regular interaction with relevant functional groups in the organization.
Act as liaison between businesses and Supply Chain/logistics to bring Product stewardship related issues to forefront, to ensure compliance with chemical management local regulations.
Potential external participation to industry associations (working groups, technical groups and committees)
Profile/Competencies
Education, background, level of experience
Qualifications
Master's Degree in a relevant Scientific Discipline (chemistry, toxicology, analytical chemistry, R&D)
3+ years working in a regulatory role with focus on product safety assessment & communication / SDS generation
Good expertise in global regulations (GHS, CLP, SDS regulations, ADR,...) related to safety assessment & communications in the region(s) served by the BA
Good understanding of chemical product regulations impacting HTS markets / products such as but not only REACH (EU, Turkey, UK, South Korea, etc…)
Knowledge of system / tools used to provide product safety information and facilitate product regulatory compliance
Proficient in interpreting scientific literature
English Mandatory, French is a plus
