The PositionMarketing Manager
Reporting to the Marketing Director, the marketing manager is in charge of analysing market intelligence (market dynamics, customer, competition, technology) and to develop long term analyses of key drivers of change within the industry and the macro impacts on product offering and value proposition.
Within the evolving context of the Refractory market; the implementation of sustainability goals and targets has created new pressures and opportunities. This global role will be the key driver in identifying, connecting and developing the pathway to adapt our product offer to the low carbon high temperature processing.
Working cross functionally with Commercial, S&T, Technical Services, Operations & Finance teams.
Connecting innovation with customers within the sustainability and circular economy efforts
Collect and analyse quantitative and qualitative information from Imerys and 3rd party sources to understand demand trends, production, capacity and trade flows situation as well as mineral usage mapping, competitive environment and market shares. Develop and structure market and competition intelligence liaising with sales, tech support.
Assess competitive behaviour, strengths and weaknesses and integrate this into the business strategy and tactics to develop a sustainable competitive advantage in collaboration with commercial management
Act as a commercial partner to the Innovation efforts as driven by S&T & Technical Services groups to support progress of new opportunities through the stage-gate process.
Identify the winners and losers of the coming structural change in the industry for developing mid term strategy
Moves in demand on current product offer
Material needs in next generation high temperature processes
Customers ability to transition to next generation needs
Competitors ability to transition to next generation needs
Recommendation of M&A targets that connect to the market development strategy & Support business development team on business plan development & due diligence programs.
Education & Experience
Engineering degree or PhD in material science or chemistry, ideally completed by a MBA or Master Degree in Business / Marketing, or, Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing or related field, with minimum of 7+ years of equivalent work-related experience in industrial marketing in a company where the function is mature
Deep market and technical understanding of application (needs, production process, market structure, performance)
Strong business sense and ability to interact effectively with people from all backgrounds and levels, and to influence others in a collaborative style
Excellent analytical and critical thinking and a high degree of business acumen
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills
English: fluent (international environment.
