The Position

Product Stewardship Senior Specialist

Job Summary


  • Leads PM APAC-wide effort to ensure the portfolio of products is in compliance with product safety and regulatory requirements while meeting customer expectations


  •  Ensure regulatory and safety compliance of domestic, import and export products to all applicable regulations and product standards in APAC countries and destination countries

  • Evaluate all applicable regulations for new products/technologies & outline the regulatory pathway to bring to market in APAC countries

  • Lead identification of product-specific hazards and define/carry out testing protocols, registration and certification of products via a managed network of local  3rd party providers/labs

  • Provide regulatory and safety input to product claims and market issues

  • Provide fast and accurate responses to APAC customer Product Stewardship enquiries

  • Monitor, interpret, communicate, and assess business impact of product compliance regulations for Asia, and similar regulations worldwide.

  • Close collaboration with the broader global Product Stewardship community to ensure cross-boundary compliance and implementation of Product Stewardship best practice across APAC

  • Represent company on external trade groups and teams and discuss with regulators to support business objectives

  • Ensure progressive harmonization of testing protocols across all operational sites and testing labs

  • Maintain and interpret mineral/chemical supplier’s composition data for hazard assessments and communication

  • Be a key supporting player in wider EH&S activities including Product Stewardship, Toxicology, Research &Engineering, Market Development, Supply Chain and Customer Service 


  • Product Portfolio Accountability with respect to Regulatory Compliance: Product Stewardship position actively addresses regulatory compliance and environmental health and safety concerns pertaining to the portfolio of products within PM APAC. This position will ensure that we continue to meet current and future product regulatory compliance requirements

  • Develop reliable 3rd party partners for testing and consultancy 

Competencies and experience

  • Key competencies

    • Practical knowledge of minerals, organic and inorganic chemistry with scientific rigour

    • Knowledge of Quality Assurance programmes and Analytical skills and knowledge of Global regulations (FDA, OSHA, REACH and other worldwide notifications) are highly desired

    • Familiarity with key country, China, India and/or Japan product safety regulations

    • Ability to research and interpret regulations

    • Ability to work independently and/or in cross-functional teams

    • Ability to perform in a tight deadline with multiple priorities

    • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to use data to creatively connect multiple ideas and develop solutions with attention to the details

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with people both internally and externally

    • Able to travel as necessary

  • Ideal background/ experience

    • Bachelor or Master in chemistry or relevant disciplines 

    • At least 5 years experience in regulatory affairs, Pharmacutial or cosmetical industry experience is preferred

    • Experienced in Fluent in English
