The Position

Global Purchasing Initiatives Manager

Job Summary


Imerys is a world leading Industrial Mineral company, with specialized mineral products addressing specific customer requirements. Imerys strength lies in its knowledge of mineral processing and vertical integration to its own raw material mines or a reliable / secure source of primary raw material. Imerys is organized in 3 regional business areas and 2 specialized global businesses.

The Global Purchasing Initiatives Manager will rely on the whole Purchasing community to manage and/or support at Group level the following topics:

  • Cost Savings Program - STEP Program (Cross functional coordination and reporting) (Support)

  • Cash Improvement Program - Payment Terms Program (Support)

  • TEAM Negotiation Program

  • Teams Capability on Purchasing Expertise & Negotiation

  • De-risking Imerys Monosource situations (Support)

  • End-Year-Rebates monitoring and improvement

  • Purchasing contracts library

 Management Role:

  • Drives Purchasing Analyst  (Trainee - direct report)

  • Implements and follows up global initiatives assigning contributive roles to the Purchasing team members


 Communication Role:

  • Animates and Facilitates the Communication across the Purchasing community, and towards internal stakeholders

  • Assists BA Purchasing Directors in their BA communication


Liaising with BA Purchasing Management, PPMs, RCMs, PMOs, Indian Back office and multiple internal stakeholders, the Global Purchasing Initiatives Manager aims at increasing continuously the level of maturity of the Purchasing function in Imerys by leading global initiatives and ensuring an homogeneous progress.

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering or Business - Master’s in Business is a bonus.
