The Position
Carpentry/Joinery ApprenticeJob Summary
Calderys/NGJ Ltd are seeking to recruit two Advanced Carpentry/Joinery Apprentices. These positions will be based at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, CH65 4EH.
The aim of the Carpenter/Joinery Apprentice is to learn all the elements of Carpentry/Joinery such as; Mould Making, Site Shuttering, Understanding Engineering Drawings, Lining of Insulation Material, etc, in order to maintain productivity of a busy Industrial Plant, whilst working safely at all times adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Work as part of a team to complete the maintenance tasks as directed by the Supervisor
Control and maintain a safe working environment ensuring that any issues are reported in a timely manner, ensuring that workplace activities are compliant with UK Health and Safety Regulations covering employees, contractors and visitors
Operate and contribute to the continuous improvement of the site Operations, to provide the required quality production safety and efficiently at minimum cost
The successful candidate should:
Have 5 GCSEs Grade C/4 and above to include English, Maths and Science
Have a strong desire to progress within their chosen career
Be punctual, reliable and takes responsibility for their own actions
Show respect for others, having regard for Diversity and Equality
Respond positively to change in a working environment
Be able to integrate within the team and support others
Be able to work independently and effectively in challenging situations
Be able to maintain quality of work under pressure
Have excellent communication skills

Hold a valid UK Driving Licence
Be IT literate
The role is physically demanding and may require some working away from home.
Applicants will need to have Right to Work in the UK.
The Apprenticeship will be delivered over a 15 month duration and will consist of a combination of attendance at College along with work based learning in order to gain practical skills and experience.
