Global Engineering Manager

Job Summary

For our Global Industrial Development Department, based in our headquarter in Bironico (Switzerland), we are looking for a

GLOBAL ENGINEERING MANAGER

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Coordinate the Engineering Team to deliver dedicated projects in a planned timeline.

  • Create and coordinate   solid interdisciplinary teams of engineers Execute strategies, and coordinate execution with other managers. 

  • Supervise the Engineering activities related to each project.

  • Perform global improvement on engineering management in order to: reduce capex costs, deliver projects deliverables in time, budget and performances (project management), increase Company Technical competitiveness, through the evaluation of Capital Expenditure Request, expert community and standardization of best practices. 

  • Development and ownership of the Engineering solutions design including process: proposing CAPEX projects budget and secure department review and validation.

  • Advise on selecting the proper external Engineering Contractors partners.

  • Coordinate external Engineering Contractors, including management of their scope of work, budget, quality and timely deliverables in accordance with Project requirement.

  • Secure department operational support during preparation and execution for major industrial projects. 

  • Deliver expertise in the engineering disciplines fields upon request.

  • Improve EHS workplace performance by promoting an incident-free workplace, identifying and mitigating EHS risk and implementing safety and environmental management systems in accordance with regulations, corporate compliance policies and different countries standards.

Requirements:

  • Master Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or Civil)

  • +10 years relevant experience in engineering (all related disciplines), construction supervision and sites management.

  • Excellent communication skills in Italian, English. 

  • French and German basics are a plus.

  • Availability to travel worldwide (10-25%).

  • Outstanding capacity to evaluate technical feasibility and practical solutions.

  • Project management skills: organized, time conscious, result oriented. 

  • Ability to convince with clear demonstration, autonomous, rigorous.

  • Capacity to elaborate precise and concise documents. 

  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Team player, ability to work with colleagues in different parts of the world (Canada, Belgium, Japan, Switzerland).

  • Good knowledge of the most common IT programs and software for developing detailed designs.

  • In depth knowledge of EHS regulations and law requirements.

  • Appreciation for the complex nature of the industry.
