Logistic Manager

Job Summary

For our Supply Chain Department, based in our headquarter in Bironico (Switzerland), we are looking for a

LOGISTIC MANAGER

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Define Logistics Strategy on outbound distribution, liaise with Divisional Supply Chain manager and Plant Supply Chain managers

  • Responsible for the Logistics Dashboard (review KPIs, actions) 

  • Develop P&L for Logistics in/outbound

  • Collect information  from different logistics routes, select shipping lines and deploy the rates/contracts from corporate tender

  • Collect information  from different logistics routes, select road transport companies and deploy the rates/contracts from corporate tender

  • Follow up performance of the Corporate Tender with logistics teams 

  • Define/Review Global Warehouse Strategy for each business 

  • Support Logistics teams in the plants with guidance (special deliveries, requests from customer)

  • Support Customer Service and Sales team

  • Monitor rail transport companies rates and performance, along with Corporate team

  • Support inbound logistics activities

  • Proactively identify new opportunities, estimate value and assist with prioritization

  • Think strategically through departments, connecting the dots with other initiatives

  • Act as key user for Logistics for IT (processes, reporting, transactions, tools) in the rollout of SAP in the coming years

  • Maintain OTC (order-to-cash) handbook and Business Guidelines up-to-date

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration

  • Master in Logistics or Supply Chain desirable

  • Fluent in English and any other EU/Asian language

  • 5 years of logistics experience in sea, rail and road transport (air is a plus) 

  • International trading experience (taxation, trade agreements between countries/regions) 

  • Strong customs clearance (import/export) background (Asia, EU, Americas, SEA)

  • Strong Analytical skills

  • Strong skills in Finance 

  • Negotiation skills

  • Project management experience

  • Consulting experience desirable

  • IT savvy (Excel/MS and/or Google sheet skills, SAP, transport management)

  • Result oriented

  • Strong sense of responsibility, independence, ownership and pride in delivering quality results, and understanding the business impacts

  • Strong Communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels 

  • Strong organizational and planning skills 

  • Proactive, curious and open to work with different cultures
