The Position

Regional Procurement Operations Lead

Job Summary

This role offers the opportunity to implement and manage a Regional Shared Service Center for Procurement.
The RPO Lead is responsible for the initial set-up and on-going supervision and optimization of Regional Procurement operations center activities and actively drives efficiency improvement of activities. 
The flawless execution of processes and activities is paramount to ensure business continuity and enable the wider procurement world to focus on value delivery. The regional procurement operations centers require execution in full compliance with IMERYS's processes, policy and governance.


Owning the regional implementation plan of the regional shared service center with external provider up to Go-Live, including:

  • Monitor and support regional mobilization and set-up (infrastructure)

  • Ensures resource readiness for Go-Live (on-boarding, training oversight)

  • Implementation and dry-run of all key processes

  • Provides leadership, direction and effective management of the regional procurement team to achieve high-level of performance and delivery high-quality service to stakeholders

  • Continuously tracks performance of all performance metrics in regional center and owns action plan to improve metrics

  • Ensures full visibility of activities within regional center through regular engagement with all roles and activities in regional center

  • Connects and aligns with business process owners to ensure existing processes are followed, provides input into process adaptation and improvements

  • Leads process implementation and process improvements in regional center

  • Ensures alignment with other regions and compliance to global processes

  • Prepares regional implementation of centrally developed standards, procedures, best practices

  • Initiates and designs business process excellence improvements in alignment with the central Business Process Owners

  • Aligns the regional procurement development activities with the global strategy

  • Ensures alignment of centrally developed standards, procedures, best practices with regional stakeholders, e.g. Finance, Legal and IT 

  • Develops and manages the cost center budget for the Procurement Centre


  • University graduate, ideally in Business or Engineering 

  • Fluency in English is a prerequisite.

  • Fluency in French is considered as a plus.

  • Proven track record in managing and leading operational delivery teams (around 4-6 years) 

  • Recognized qualification in procurement (e.g. CIPS)

  • Recognized qualification in process management/improvement (e.g. Six Sigma) 

  • Experience in using various office tools (e.g. MS Office, SAP, Ariba)

  • Deep understanding and experience in procurement processes and operations 

  • Proven experience in working in a multi-country environment 

  • Good level of negotiation, influencing and communication skills

  • International mobility and ability to travel
