The Position
Environmental & Climate Change ManagerJob Summary
The environment and climate change manager reports to the Environment Vice-President.
He /She will be the group's referent in terms of Climate Change.
The project manager will be in charge of the group's environmental reporting and will participate in the continuous improvement program by providing support to the operational departments on the subjects of regulatory compliance and reduction of our impacts on the environment (air, water, waste, etc.).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a climate change referent:
Participate in the definition and monitoring of the group's strategy in terms of climate change,
Definition and animation of the 1.5C trajectory and its validation by the SBTi
Analyze and monitor the group's emissions: Analyze the evolution of the group's CO2 emissions: identification of causes, understanding of carbon-related mechanisms: influence of the energy mix, renewable electricity,
Support operational departments in reducing their CO2 emissions (action levers),
Work on scope 3 in relation with the purchasing department: indirect emissions,
Help to raise awareness and training employees.
- Facilitate the Group's environmental reporting:
Coordinate the monitoring of indicators and the management system and be a source of proposals to improve them
Ensure environmental compliance and continuous improvement of our operations:
Evaluate the maturity of the group's environmental management systems using the internal reference system and participate in the definition of action plans
Participate in internal environmental audits
Assess and reduce the risks associated with the activities of the group's sites and participate in the definition and implementation of preventive and curative solutions
Ensure that gaps or opportunities identified are included in the operational departments' roadmaps
Project management: supporting operational departments on specific environmental projects
Expertise: Be in support of operations on environmental and industrial expertise topics for specific projects (atmospheric emissions, treatment of aqueous effluents)
Collaborate with an international network of correspondents and with other functions at group level on specific subjects
Profile:
Engineer or Master 2 in Environment or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of significant experience in environmental matters in industry, in an environmental consulting firm or a design office
Skills & Knowledge related to the missions:
Technical knowledge of environmental engineering such as air emissions treatment or industrial water treatment techniques is a plus
Knowledge and appetite for topics related to climate change
A genuine interest and understanding of environmental issues and in particular climate change
Ability to quickly immerse themselves in complex, international contexts and to quickly grasp the issues;
A desire to work in a team in a multicultural context
You will be able to establish effective networks within the company and with external organizations. Strong counseling skills including the ability to motivate and influence others through engagement and building/maintaining a network.
Motivated and committed personality ready to independently take on topics and see them through to completion
Ability to propose practical solutions to enable continuous improvement according to operational constraints
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Organized and methodical, you know how to manage your time independently
Fluency in English and French .
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to different regions of the world
