The PositionProject Engineer - Electrical
Evaluate existing electrical systems to determine safety and reliability
Suggest upgrades to existing systems as required
Develop scope of work and basic equipment specifications for new electrical gear including switchgear, motor controls, VFD’s, and associated controls
Work with design firms to create detailed specifications for larger electrical and process control infrastructure projects
Review electrical drawings and designs to ensure conformance with NEC, local codes, and safety requirements.
Supporting electrical design efforts on capital improvement projects in Imerys plants throughout the Southeast
Improving and installing new medium voltage and low voltage electrical systems
Evaluating existing electrical systems’ safety, reliability, and performance
BS Electrical Engineering
5-10 years hands on experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
Ability to read and draw one-line drawings and wiring diagrams
Understanding of arc flash mitigation methods
General understanding of typical industrial plant instrumentation and PLC control systems.
Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards
Attention to detail
Strong organizational and communication skills
Experience in mining industry and MSHA certification is a plus
