Mission
We are looking for a Quality Control (QC) Manager to join Calderys site in Höganäs. Your mission will be to ensure the manufacturing production lines run smoothly and generates a consistently suitable output of products that set standards of quality, reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
As QC Manager, you will be responsible for managing quality control activities of the Höganäs site. You will be responsible for ensuring, developing and maintaining quality control standards.
Set and implement internal/external quality requirements to ensure company products/services meet customer expectations.
Ensure continuous manufacturing process improvement for higher-quality goods.
Work tasks
Implement quality & control procedures and associated documentation
Manage in-process and finished product inspections
Conceive, improve and review products and processes new specifications
Make sure the local Quality team is focused on quality improvement opportunities identification
Define relevant monitoring indicators to ensure production and QC improvement
Analyse deviations recorded by Production/quality.
Implement Quality Management Documentation related to QC processes
Manage Supplier performance by controlling/inspecting raw material delivery and track supplier non conformities compliance - If applicable
Analyse customer complaints (quality) and propose associated corrective actions for repeated failures or unreliability of quality.
Liaise with customers, auditors, and ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications.
Perform internal audits upon management request, after customer complaints or major issues.
Perform tests and analyse the samples coming from production or Suppliers
Supervise local Quality team to ensure procedures and standards implementation, data systems management and team knowledge management and improvement
Your profile
Education & competencies
Master’s Degree in Engineering, Chemical, Mining or equivalent
Knowledge of the refractories industry (including raw materials and formulations) and/or our customers’ operations in the different market segments
Experience from similar roles
Certification - preferred
Certified Quality Manager or other advanced quality certification
Six Sigma Green Belt (is a plus)
Technical skills - preferred
Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Problem Solving Techniques: 8D, A3, Brainstorming, Ishikawa (Cause & Effect), 5 Whys
Experience with APQP or DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) procedures and techniques
Demonstrate an understanding of the relevant regulations, standards and operating procedures
Soft skills
Excellent communicative and pedagogical skills
Excellent language skills - Swedish and English
Time management - organisation and prioritisation
Detailed oriented
A positive management style with the ability to motivate and gain commitment from the team through leading by example
