The Position
Engineering & Service Contracts Purchasing ManagerJob Summary
Context:
IMERYS is developing a new Lithium production project in France.
In 2023, we intend to contract an Engineering Company to perform the basic engineering and the EPCm of the Pilot Plants. In 2024, we intend to build and commission the Pilot Plants. In 2025, we intend to contract, potentially with the same Engineering Company the Basic Engineering and the EPCm of the commercial plant.
The qualification process of such EPCm potential contractors(s) will start in Q4 2022.
Position in IMERYS organization:
Direct report to the Group Purchasing Director for Industrial Equipment & Services.
Functional report to the Industrial Project Director of the Project.
Functional collaboration:
Project Purchasing Manager of the Project.
Project Management Team.
Legal Counsel in EMEA
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Perform the qualification of the Engineering Companies for the full project (starting with ~20 names of international engineering companies), in order to shortlist the Engineering Companies which will eventually receive the RFQ for the BASIC Engineering / EPCm of the Pilot Plants, and potentially for the commercial plant.
Manage the RFQ of the BASIC Engineering / EPCm of the Pilot Projects.
Support cost estimating activities (RFIs, RFQs, benchmarking etc…).
Starting from the available EPCm Contract template at IMERYS, prepare and negotiate the EPCm contract(s) (investment magnitude for the Pilot Plants is ~100MEUR), in relation with the Project Team, the Purchasing Team and the Legal Team, up to contract award.
After contract award, manage all EPCm purchasing activities during basic engineering and EPCm phase: this include the proper implementation of IMERYS Purchasing Policy, validation of the purchasing plan(s), participation to progress meetings, participation to the definition of the vendor and subcontractor lists, participation to vendor qualifications, participation to negotiations.
Potentially, the activities may continue with the RFQ of the BASIC engineering / EPCm of the commercial plant, until contract award. After contract award, the activities may continue with the management of the EPCm purchasing activities.
Main KPIs are the respect of the project timeline, and saving negotiation performance.
Education and Experience requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering plus Purchasing specialization / experience.
Minimum 10 years of experience in BASIC/FEED, EPC/EPCm projects management and contract management from RFQ phase to execution.
Experienced in the procurement / purchasing and negotiation of industrial equipment, engineering and construction services with performance guarantees, on large industrial projects and CAPEX investments (>50MEUR).
Proven experience in planning and leading complex negotiations.
Experience in the mining / metal processing industry is a plus.
