The Position
Legal Counsel - 12 months contractJob Summary
Job Purpose
This is a unique opportunity to gain insight and experience in the legal department of an industrial minerals’ group with global presence and organization. The successful candidate will assist the Legal Manager EMEA, based in Athens, in the management of litigation, and provide support on wide range of legal aspects of commercial and industrial activity and corporate governance of the company and its affiliates, for a period of 12 months, starting in September 2022, in replacement of the lawyer in charge who will be in maternity leave.
Key responsibilities
Assist in the management of the litigation portfolio in coordination with external legal services providers.
Advise and support internal clients on pre litigation actions and communication with third private parties or regulatory authorities.
Advise internal clients on day to day matters pertaining to the company's commercial and industrial activity.
Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts.
Monitor corporate governance formalities for the group's entities, and ensure that at all times relevant data are promptly updated.
Provide support to M&A and corporate transformation projects.
Job Requirements:
LL.B in Greece and a masters’ degree.
At least 5 years of a solid and broad-based commercial and litigation legal experience.
Greek speaker and fluent in English on a legal and business level.
Superior communications skills
Creative problem-solving ability for handling complex legal situations and with multiple stakeholders
Strong business orientation when discussing with internal clients
Team-oriented and collaborative
Capacity to work effectively, efficiently and autonomously
