The PositionI Cube & Quality Manager
Within his/her scope, the Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible of driving the Operational Excellence System (icube - Imerys Industrial Improvement) and the Quality (Control and Assurance) processes.
He/she is responsible for:
Enable the identification of improvement opportunities through providing a solid understanding of the end-to-end Value Chain processes
Organize and conduct regular assessments and workshops with provided methodology and tools to have continuous improvement of maturity levels with dedicated actions plans.
Drive the performance of site, Implement and analyse Key Performance indicators
Drive a continuous Improvement Culture, addressing route cause analysis, NCR’s, targeting identification, implementation and rectification of all corrective preventative actions
Facilitate and animate a series of Accelerated Improvement Workshops (AIW -Kaizen workshops)
Identify the most cost-effective methods to deliver cost savings in line with budget
Support the Site Management Team and functional leads to develop and deliver the plant performance improvement plan
Drive and follow up the progress of I cube deployment, such as safety, MUST HAVES (5S, Ritual mgt,dust mgt), cost saving projects, energy management etc.,
Encourage best practices sharing cultures with specific actions. respond proactively to HTS and Imerys group best practices yearly activities.
Provide coaching and training to improve people's competences (skills and abilities) at different levels accordingly.
Safety and technical studies and improvements:
Regularly audit, according to an annual schedule, the safety and efficiency of equipment to improve plant performance (for example, annual mills audits, etc.)
Manage the local Quality Control Lab team (3 lab technicians)
Ensure the manufacturing production lines run smoothly and generate a consistently suitable output of products that set standards of quality, reliability and performance.
Set and implement internal/external quality requirements to ensure company products/services meet customer expectations. Ensure continuous manufacturing process improvement for higher-quality goods.
Sustain/Create procedures and standards implementation, data systems management and team knowledge management and improvement
Implement quality & control procedures and associated documentation
Improve and review products and processes new specifications
Perform data analysis and statistical studies to define specifications
Define relevant monitoring indicators to ensure production and QC improvement
Analyse deviations recorded by Production/quality
Implement Quality Management Documentation
Manage Supplier performance by controlling/inspecting raw material delivery and track supplier non conformities compliance, by auditing, challenging suppliers
Analyse customer complaints or major issues and propose associated corrective actions for repeated failures or unreliability of quality.
Liaise with customers, auditors, and ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications.
Lead root cause analysis on longer term (systemic) problems with main area of focus on product and process related projects
Responsible of the ISO 9001,45001,14001, 50001 and FamiQS (Animal Feed) certifications in terms of:
Coordination between Dept for follow-up of Processes and local & central actions plans
Coordination of internal & external audits
Master’s Degree in Engineering, Chemical, Mining or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years experience (preferably 5 years) managing process improvement teams in a manufacturing environment Experience in an established world-class manufacturing facility (TPM, Lean, 6 Sigma or high performance work systems) highly preferred
Passionate about success and people development
Certification - preferred
Certified Quality Manager or other advanced quality certification
Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (is a plus)
Technical skills - preferred
Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Problem Solving Techniques: 8D, A3, Brainstorming, Ishikawa (Cause & Effect), 5 Whys
Experience with APQP or DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) procedures and techniques
Demonstrate an understanding of the relevant regulations, standards and operating procedures
Experienced in data analysis with a G Suite experience (Sheets, Slides, datastudio, etc..),is a plus
Deep understanding of Lean culture and proven track record of implementing Lean tools i.e. VSM, Kanban, SMED, 5S, Pull, Kaizen, PFEP, Visual Management, PDCA,
Ability to translate actions into operational results and business outcomes
Results-based leadership style with strong impact and influencing skills
Autonomous and self-starter
Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
Full professional proficiency in French and English
Organization and prioritization
A positive management style with the ability to motivate and gain commitment from the team through leading by example
Fluent French, English desired
