JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
This role is part of an ambitious Energy program group-wide (I-nergize) whose main objectives are important energy cost savings of around 25M€ and - 36% of CO2 reduction by 2030.
The energy expert - plant utilities (electric motors, fans, pumps, compressors, lighting…) will support a team of seasoned energy/processes experts throughout an intensive energy assessment program across several plants worldwide, working in a workstream with the maintenance teams.
The main objective is to identify savings through on-site Energy Efficiency assessments to generate pipeline of actions, training of people as well as the creation of a knowledge database are part of the role.
MISSION SCOPE/DIMENSIONS
Be part of a trio composed by seasoned energy efficiency/process experts to carry out the I-Nergize program in the different sites.
10 assessments in 10 different sites (one per site) to be performed, with a duration of 2-3 weeks each: this represents around 60% of international travel on sites
10% of energy savings identified and planned representing 25M€, contributing to the target of -36% of carbon intensity by 2030.
Involvement in group continuous improvement (CI) program to contribute to RAC CI journey
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow a methodology on-site to define opportunities to save energy (diagnostic, design): data analysis, interviews, active observations.
Use specific tools to identify losses on compressed air, lighting, motors, instrumentation…
Apply assessment methodology to the main plants of the Business Area and the main equipment in terms of energy: dryers, kilns, furnaces, grinding, mechanical dewatering…
Investigate ways of improvement regarding soft skills: training, SOP… on-site
Develop a knowledge database on main energy consumers’ equipment within Imerys.
Support and coach the site teams for preliminary project sizing
In between assessments, support the sites in their energy optimization journey with ad hoc missions as part of Business Area RAC Industrial Centre of Excellence team
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience requirements:
Academic Qualifications: Engineering Diploma with a Master’s Degree (Supelec, Arts et Métiers, Centrale or other…)
2-3 years minimum of experience in the field of energy (preferably in energy sector or consulting) and a strong motivation for energy efficiency, as well as for continuous improvement
Flexibility for frequent travelling (Europe, US, China, India, UK…) - 60% of time
Good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and G Suite
Full proficiency in English, French; any other language would be a plus
Nice to have:
Experience with French CEE (or others) schemes in consulting company
Energy oriented or maintenance analyst in the industry
Knowledge on facilities equipments (motors, pumps, fans…)
First exposure to continuous improvement
Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics:
Analytic (able to do data analysis) and Synthetic (able to design presentations with impact)
Pedagogic and ability to convince
Project management skills: organized, time conscious, result oriented
Autonomous, creative
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to work with colleagues in different parts of the World
