The Position

Continuous Improvement Champion

Job Summary

Continuous Improvement (I-Cube) Champion - Quarry Close, Nanpean, Cornwall

Salary range £30,000 to £35,000 gross per annum.

Role overview:

As a Change Agent, the I-Cube champion will enable the group to accelerate the transformation of our operations by bringing performance improvement while creating a safe, clean and visual workplace. This function is a key contributor to the change of mindset, and creation of value, at all levels of the organisation. The I-Cube champion coordinates and challenges the continuous improvement program in order to ensure a constant pipeline of projects, delivering hard and soft savings.

The I-Cube Champion will be heavily involved in the deployment of Imerys I-Cube program across operational departments within the UK Industrial Hub. I-Cube will be used as the vehicle to implement improved industrial practices in safety, production, maintenance, quality and generate cost savings.

This will involve the successful applicant engaging people with different levels of knowledge, skill, and experience and managing any resistance to change at a plant level. It will also involve the training and coaching people with different levels of skill and abilities.

Reports To: Senior Manager - Operational Excellence

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified to technical degree level or equivalent 

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black belt

  • Relevant practical experience in operations/production/process 

  • Demonstrable experience in the various principles and practices of Lean and Continuous Improvement

  • Proven experience in change management projects

  • Persuasive, strong influencing skills and possess the confidence to question and challenge managers

  • Team player and the ability to quickly establish professional relationships 

  • Business awareness and financial sensibility 

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and ever changing organisation 

  • Ability to work at all level of the organisation from Senior Management to Operatives
