The Position

Process Innovation Engineer

Job Summary

Context: 


-Contribute to the development of new innovative processes, breakthrough, lab to pilot.
-Choice of the industrial route for new products in order to reduce the time to market as well as Capex cost. 
-Support to optimize conventional processes using brand new methodologies as well as support around existing methodologies and subjects
-Contribute to  and implement technical strategies for new sustainable processes including design and acquisition of necessary pilot facility and equipment
-Contribute to open innovation and proactive collaboration
-In charge of projects related to new process ways of manufacturing sustainable products.  (collaborative or not) 
 
Team:


-Works closely with Application scientist to provide Technical solution to create NBOs. 
-Strong interactions with the engineering and industrial processes of IMERYS during the Handover Phase. 
-The candidate will be expected to  work transversally within his/her Business Area and possibly with the others.
-The candidate reports to the Process Innovation Director.  
-In touch with potential funds, academic labs, external private companies
 
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


-Lead large collaborative projects
-Ability to design new innovative processes at industrial scale 
-Advanced engineering studies, write engineering reports 
-Economical calculation and evaluation of profitability of processes (OPEX-CAPEX evaluations)
-Attend suppliers trials for process developpement
-Conduct literature and IP landscape evaluations in support of assigned projects, Write Invention -Disclosures/Reports, drafts IP and assists in prosecuting patent applications
-Contribute ideas/ data/ findings and comments to proposals, plans and other research development activities
-Interpret, evaluate, and communicate research data and results for research projects 
-Participate in cross-functional teams for especially complex and new to Imerys projects and technology developments
-Attends technical conferences related to his field
-Leader and contributor in key team’s projects 
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE


- 5 years of experience minimum in development of new processes, or in a relevant adjacent field
-Experience in project management 
-Master / Engineering degree / PhD in a relevant academic field: process engineering, chemistry engineering, material science with a sensibility concerning sustainable development, environmental stakes (CO2, climates challenges…)
-Safety focused 
-Result oriented and project priority focused
-Ability to work in a team
-Ability to communicate with different stakeholders 
-Self-motivated, keen on problem solving,
-Be able to analyze and make scientific assumptions
-Reporting project progress 
-Expertise in industrial development processes
-Ability to effectively communicate (written and oral) French/English
 
Site
Toulouse, France and travels are expected on our Pilot Plant Site (Lixhe, Par Moor, Salin de Giraud)
