The Position
Energy Efficiency ManagerJob Summary
Background
IMERYS is the word leader in mineral-based specialty solutions for the industry. The main mission is the implementation of I-Nergize program related to energy efficiency in order to reduce the spent of energy and decrease carbon
footprint of industrial plants.
Scope
40 Countries: mainly Europe, North America, China
250 industrial plants. 10 TWh/y of Energy: electricity, natural gas, biomass, coal, fuel
Mission
1. Energy assessments on-site will identify losses, generate ideas, track performance
and empower people in the objective to define a 3 years roadmap of actions.
2. The person will be in charge to manage a team of 4 energy specialists during the
assessments, make sure the methodology is applied, and is responsible for the
results.
3. Direct clients of such assessment are the plants and the associated Business
Areas. The person needs to work in full collaboration with the stakeholders of these
entities.
Keys Tasks & Responsibilities
Drive full energy efficiency assessments on plants:
o Coordinate different stakeholders for the preparation
o Do the Diagnostic of the current situation and Design a 3 years roadmap
o Manage a team to identify the potential on process, maintenance,
purchasing, renewable topics
o Identify ways of improvement via expert’s recommendation and shop floor
brainstorming
o Propose priorities with timing committed by client
o Develop people
Analyse energy efficiency through three aspects:
o Technical equipment: kilns, dryers, furnaces, motors, pumps, compressed
air, lighting
o Management: KPI-KAI, project follow up, governance, policy
o Mindset and Behavior: awareness, communication
Conduct benchmark, identify best practices, define standards, share good
practices, develop competencies
Required Experience, Skills & Education
7 to 10 years of experience in energy efficiency
Engineering degree
Ability to animate a team: motivate, challenge, give feedback etc.
Energy efficiency knowledge in industry
Analytic (able to do data analysis) and Synthetic (able to design presentations
with impact)
Pedagogic and capacity to convince
Project management skills: organized, time conscious, result oriented
Autonomous, creative
Ability to work with colleagues in different parts of the World
Fluent in French and English (any other languages appreciated)
Ability to travel worldwide, up to 30% of the time. Based in Paris
