The Position

Strategy & Business Development Manager

Job Summary


  • Business Area Performance Minerals EMEA: 1.2 billion turnover, 80 industrial sites, approximately 3700 people 

  • Define the Business Area strategy & drive business development efforts, in accordance with Imerys strategy

  • Coordinates key M&A projects for the Business Area in liaison with the central teams


Consolidate & Contribute to the Business Area strategy from

  • Imerys Group strategy

  • Market strategy

  • Profitability optimization 

Project Management 

  • Lead key strategic projects for the BA from end to end, relating to  industrial footprint, M&A, organic growth, etc., in collaboration with BA functions such as markets, operations, supply chain, finance, HR, communication, S&T, etc.  

  • For all topics 

    • Source, analyze, challenge  information inside and outside our organization, select and provide recommendation 

    • Prepare & present to senior management for decision making


  • Manage the M&A pipeline of the BA in close collaboration with Markets and Strategy

  • Serve as point of contact / relay for central M&A teams at the business area level, contributing to sourcing and to deal execution


  • Interface between Group & Markets for key trends 

  • Consolidate quarterly market trends based on Group+Market teams


  • Participate to Management Team meeting and prepare synthesis


  • Year on Year profit growth & optimization  

  • Business expansion into new customers, markets and applications

Position in the organization :

  • Reporting to: PM EMEA Strategy, Business Development & Product Management VP

  • Main external stakeholders: Product Manager, Marketing Directors, Operations, PM EMEA Management Team, M&A & Strategy Group team

  • Location: Paris

    • Strategic mind, hands-on, result-oriented, good interpersonal skills

    • Ability to positively influence others w/o direct reporting lines

    • Project management skills for scoping, developing and operational implementation of projects.

    • Ability to craft and present compelling Business cases and Analyses  supporting key developments.

  • Ideal background/ experience

    • Engineering degree or Business School 

    • 8 to 12  years experience in strategy/marketing/product management, ideally in relevant industry
