The PositionLaboratory Technician
Imerys Aluminates Limited - West Thurrock, Essex
Salary £24,000 to £29,000 per annum + cover allowance

Want variety, a supportive team, and the opportunity to use your skills and knowledge to contribute to production and process efficiencies?
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you’ll be working closely with department managers and your team, supporting the daily process in providing accurate laboratory testing and efficiency improvements, daily monitoring of the process plant, assisting with production trials, and reporting on final product specifications compliance. The work has some physical aspects and will include manual handling.
As the site operates 24/7 you’ll also be on a call-out Rota (one week in four) to provide support with any lab issues outside of your normal working hours. A cover allowance is paid in addition to your base salary plus overtime hours are also available.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for laboratory testing experience gained in an industrial environment, ideally in cement production however other manufacturing sectors where testing is utilised will be considered.
Other requirements are:
- A Level as a minimum in a science-based subject
- Testing and accurate data recording
- Use of XRF X-Ray Fluorescence or XRD X-ray Diffraction ideal however training is provided
- Familiar with using MS Office and other applications
- Computer Hardware and Robotics experience is desirable but not essential
