The PositionDeputy Product Manager
Support the Product Manager with the definition, articulation and implementation of a mineral /product strategy (Product Roadmap) to align capacities with organic growth ambition and challenges and optimize profit pool by conducting strategic analysis, leading specific projects, and developing / implementing recommendations
Aside the Product Manager, be a mineral ambassador to ensure mineral growth across markets, applications and geographies
Perimeter: specific mineral portfolio for the Business Area Performance Minerals EMEA
Short term operational business (30%)
Support implementation of a pricing strategy covering the current inflation situation. (product price impact).
Conduct profitability analysis to support Request For Quotation (RFQ) and build the appropriates tools to follow up product profitability
Facilitate information sharing between Business Functions (Industry, Market Segments [Sales], Business Planning & Supply Chain etc...) within the Business Area;
Long term Mineral vision (70%):
Conduct strategic analyses in line with the Product roadmap objectives:
Elaborate Business case or contribute with Market Business development incl. New Business Opportunity assessment, CAPEX study, Rationalization plan, Pricing guidelines,etc
Issue recommendations and become stakeholder of the decision-making process
Sustain the New Business Opportunity pipeline and update the 5 year plan for the Minerals in relation with the Product Manager
Lead or assist cross-functional projects, from end to end, related to the Product, incl. Product portfolio management, Product branding, Product Specifications, Product tweaks, Product industrialization and Product compliance;
Identify and take actions aiming at optimising the mine and plant balance
Develop Business continuity plan ahead of supply issues, incl. validation of substitutable products
Contribute to depict the competitive landscape for the mineral by collecting insights all through the organization and external resources;
For all topics
Source, analyze, challenge information inside and outside our organization, select and provide recommendation
Develop Internal consensus and buy-in on topics
Prepare & present to senior management for decision making
Conduct strategic analysis and issue recommendations
Lead the implementation of some projects
Support Product knowledge management
JOB TITLE & POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION
Reporting to: Product Manager
Main external stakeholders: Product Manager, Marketing, Sales, Industry, S&T, Finance, Business development.
Location: Paris preferred, other relevant Performance Minerals EMEA office
COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
Strategic mindset, hands-on, result-oriented,
Strong Project management skills and self-starter
Strong analytical skills, ability to craft and present Business cases
Strong Technical skills (ie: Google Sheet) & financial knowledge to build the profitability tools.
Good interpersonal skills, ability to positively influence teams without direct reporting lines
Fluent in English, any additional language is a plus
Ideal background/ experience
Engineering / Business School / College degree or equivalent experience
3-7 years experience in Strategy/Marketing/Product management/Industry/S&T, ideally in relevant industry
A knowledge of the mineral industry is a strong plus
