The Position
Automation engineerJob Summary
The Automation Engineer works within the site organization with regard to all electrical & automation engineering, erection and testing work aspects on site.
Project location is at Imerys Voudia plant in Milos island (Greece).
The purpose of the Automation Engineer recruitment is:
- to be involved & responsible of projects, notably the new “ electrical & automation revamping of a workshop” which will be realized/executed by a Contractor (turnkey contract)
- to be involved in the maintenance , improvements and modification activities after this project implemented
The Automation Engineer mission will be:
first step: in charge of “electrical & automation revamping” project (year 2023 & 24)
be responsible for the present project execution, with regard to all electrical & automation engineering, erection and testing work aspects on site.
be responsible for the good execution: technical points of view, cost, quality and delay (respect of the schedule).
report to Milos Head Maintenance Manager within Imerys Milos organization & to the project manager of Imerys CoE for project steps & management
provide a brief weekly report (in English)
second step: ensured good working conditions and methods for maintenance operations
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Respect all site IMERYS safety rules including those applicable for the safe engagement of contractors.
Discovery of the plant and of the workshop which will be revamped.
Participate at the review of the scope of works and associated documents.
Follow-up the Contractor’s electrical & automation engineering works development.
Review & comment on the relevant electrical & automation engineering documents, drawings, list.
Ensure the plant operators will be trained to the new automation system (SCADA) by the Contractor. Be sure the training is well adapted to the operator skill level.
Organize & animate the weekly meeting with the contractor.
Prepare, animate & participate in the automation FAT (factory acceptance test).
Coordinate, where required, Contractor’s electrical & automation erection activities on site, included the civil works progress (electrical room & control room).
Ensure that Contractor carries out his work according to the contract.
QUALIFICATIONS
Electrical Engineering or related/equivalent engineering degree.
Experience in Electrical & Automation engineering, installation job and loop checking.
Strong understanding of electrical, control systems (automation, with basics of programming & configuration) and instrumentation systems (i.e. level sensors, pressure transducers, etc.).
Proven experience of fault finding, diagnostic and problem solving skills.
Ability to modify applicative software/programming development.
Fluent in English
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint , Google Suite – Excel/Google Sheets.
Computer Aided Design skills (AutoCAD).
