JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Part of a team of process engineers within the Center of Excellence of PM EMEA Business Area the Senior Process Engineer works closely with with the different stakeholders to:
Study and develop new processes and optimising existing ones to meet New Business Opportunities, to enhance efficiency and cost competitiveness
Improve key minerals processing knowledges
JOB SCOPE/DIMENSIONS
Part of the Business Area Performance Minerals EMEA Center of Excellence.
BA scope is : 80 sites in 24 countries - 3700 employees - €1.2b revenue.
Part of a team of 4 process engineers reporting to the Industrial Process Manager of the Business Area.
The position can be located in one of our Sites in Europe with extensive travels (around 40% of the time). Some possible locations: Paris/Toulouse/ in France; Par Mor in the US; Rubi in Spain, Graz in Austria, Lixhe in Belgium.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify improvements on existing equipment or new installations in order to increase production or to improve quality, efficiency, safety and profitability.
Find ideas to upgrade existing processes and define new ones
Participates actively to the development of new products by bringing technical support and expertise
Actively support the BA projects managers in production capacities designing/engineering: define and specify Process Equipment, issue Process Specifications for Inquiry.
Develops a strong expertise in mineral processing and provides mentorship for the on-site process teams, also via technical trainings
Provide technical clarifications to suppliers and issue Recommendation for Purchase.
Process improvement will focus on mass balance, flow sheet optimization, equipment performance, etc. Productivity improvements will focus on debottlenecking, yield improvements, operating efficiency improvements, and product quality improvements.
Key interfaces: S&T teams, product managers, Industrial Project Managers and other Imerys Center of Excellence Department and BA Sites.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
Engineer degree in process related field (Mining/Minerals Processing, Chemical, Metallurgy)
> 10 year experience in process engineering with Strong background in minerals processing
Technical Competencies & Soft Skills:
Good base knowledge of the main Process Unit Operations in Minerals processing
Extensive theoretical and practical knowledge in Thermal processes (Drying, Calcination)
Extensive theoretical and practical knowledge in Grinding and Classification systems.
Ability to make field measurements through specific Instrumentation (airflows, flue gas composition, etc)
Ability to perform and understand process modelling
Proficient knowledge in Process Safety of combustion systems (regulations, HAZOP,etc)
Knowledge on Control and Automation
Analytical and synthetic mindset
Problem solving skills
Demonstrated capabilities of reaching cost reduction and productivity by working on process improvement, development of new processes
Good communication skills
Cooperation mindset and openness to listen to the input from other departments and stakeholders
Fluent English, any other European languages will be a plus
