Sr. Manager – QualityJob Summary
The Quality Control Manager will manage quality for the Lompoc, Fernley, and Quincy sites to improve process capability. He/she is responsible for the consistent quality of the Lompoc products; internal, customer and supplier product specifications, quality audits and corrective action plans. He/she will also support and advise the Quality Control lab and will work in support of the Quality Management System at the Lompoc plant.
Direct supervision of 1 Quality Management System Analyst, 1 Perlite Quality Manager and 1 Chemist, with budget and people management responsibility for the Lompoc QC lab.
Reduce waste and improve productivity at all plants through production process control and automation initiatives.
Investigate and resolve key problems arising from customer complaints, recurring quality problems, process capability analyses and change control issues.
Maintains and improves the quality management system (including certifications) for the Lompoc site
- Supports plant initiatives to improve process capability
- Leads the Quality complaints process for the West Hub
- Participates in certification and customer audits and ensures follow up on corrective action plans
- Report the site quality KPIs
- Manage change control process
- Write and control Quality policy/process documents
- Lead and Assists audits of, and qualify, key suppliers
- Supports change control process for Lompoc site
- Supports process automation initiatives at the plant
- Ensures products meet regulatory standards
- Identifies and supports development of automated QC testing
- Develops and controls all product specifications – internally, customers, and suppliers
Support NPD initiatives – establish capable finished product specifications, obtain regulatory approvals as required
Domestic travel required: 25%
Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related degree
Experience: Minimum 5 years in Quality, EHS or production-related position(s) in a manufacturing or industrial industry (minerals preferred)
Annual Salary: $110,000 - $145,000 DOE
