The Position

S&T Engineer Advanced Ceramics w/m/d

Job Summary

To lead the research and development projects in the field of advanced / technical ceramics (mainly based on zirconia and alumina) in an international environment for application in coatings, structural & functional ceramics and advanced refractories we are looking for a:

Science & Technology (S&T) Engineer - Advanced Ceramics (m/f/d)

Location: Villach, Austria

Contract type: Permanent (Full-time)

Start: January 2024

The work will be performed in an international environment within the Imerys group and involves also internal and external communication, technical customer support from R&D side and operational support to Imerys production sides.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Material and process development in close co-operation with Imerys internal and external customers

  • Feasibility studies

  • Subsequent transfer of developed materials and processes to production 

  • Technical customer support

  • Organisation of internal and external resources

  • Leading of a small team

COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCES 

  • Academic background (material science, material physics, mineralogy, chemistry or similar)

  • Experience in powder and ceramic processing and in material characterisation

  • Ideally experience in project management

  • Teamplayer

  • Good communication skills

  • International travel: approx. 10% 

  • English level: fluent
