The Position
Technical Support Manager Western Europe - TilesJob Summary
Role:
Natural contact point between Imerys and the technical and operational decision makers of Tiles customer (body formulators, production managers) in the Iberian peninsula
Ensure the best possible circulation, understanding and adoption of the Value Proposition of each relevant product of the Imerys portfolio in the allocated territory (other area might be covered in the frame of specific development projects)
Support the Sales Manager in the identification and anticipation of customer needs.
Design new solutions in order to improve the strength of the value propostion
Responsibilities
Maintain close connection with all tiles and tile body producers of allocated area, through regular visits, calls and exchange of information
Ensure the best possible circulation and presentation of the technical information provided by the Technical, Marketing and S&T
Identify and measure technical needs, strengths and weaknesses of each customer & prospect in the allocated area.
Collect, consolidate and report the bottom-up information required to monitor the activity of the segment, the technological changes and the value proposition of ccompetitor offers.
Provide the sales director with the technical information required to define the sales development strategy in the segment
Identify and propose development targets to to the Sales Manager, in line with the agreed strategy
Support the execution of tests, pilot trials and production campaigns required to convert opportunity into regular business
Supportthe sales managers of Spain and Italy (as well as other areas on request) in the conversion of opportunity
Propose ideas that can for innovative solutions
Identify and explore new potential mineral source (including recycling)
Design new products and new solutions (new product definition, reformulation, blending) in line with available operational and logistics capability, in order to strengthen the values proposition
Lead the activity of internal and external technical support labs
Measure the customer perceived value and satisfaction by regular call and visits to all actual and potential customers

Ideal background/ experience
Engineer’s degree (materials, chemical or similar areas)
Deep knowledge and understanding of ceramic tiles industry, including raw materials, frit & glazes, body production, tiles production and finishing.
Full Spanish proficiency, Fluent English, any additional language is a plus
Location : Spain, Castellon area
Typical profile
Engineer with minimum 10 years experience in tiles of tile body production
Sales experience is a plus
