The Position

Mining Engineer

Job Summary

Key Tasks and Responsabilities:

  • Operational management of the operation - implementation of the workings plan.

  • Follow-up of Life of Mine and Mid term planning done by the Mine Resource Planning Team for Geology and Mining and presentation of the appropriate improvements.

  • Implementation, maintenance and execution of the rehabilitation plan.

  • Fulfillment of the production budget of the Elche de la Sierra mine.

  • Management and organization of the necessary resources to achieve production volume and quality (personnel, machinery, consumables, cost, extraction, efficiency, etc.).

  • Coordination of auxiliary tasks necessary to ensure the main activity.

  • Resolution of production and personnel incidents 

  • Coordinate and supervise the external company subcontracted for the execution of blasting campaigns, when necessary. 

  • Reporting to production management.

  • The Mine Engineer will be responsible for EHS rules compliance to spanish legislation and company's own EHS protocols, demonstrating leadership in EHS through all his interactions

  • Supervision of the development of the Ground Control Management Plan, its implementation and evolution during the life of the mine. 

Other important functions:

  • Periodic drone flights for production control (not essential)

Education and Experience requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Mining Engineering or Degree in Mining Engineering.

  • 5 years minimum of mining related field experience (quarrying or similar).

  • It is important that the person has assumed a similar position. 

  • Proficiency in Surpac, Datamine, or other 3D software in mining design, plus knowledge of mine planning. 

  • Language: English (Upper intermediate)

  • It will be valued as a plus: Drone license.
