The Position

Plant Manager VILLERS

Job Summary

The Plant Manager is responsible for managing and improving plant operations, achieving plant production goals in volume and quality, maintaining a clean & safe plant environment meeting all Environmental, health and Safety requirements of Imerys and local regulation.

CA: 10 M€ 

Headcount: 35 people

1 plant (Villers) and 1 Quarry (Précy) 

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate plant operations in line with Imerys Group & BA PMEMEA policies and procedures, establish & monitor plant specific policies and procedures

  • Maintain a clean and safe plant implementing and controlling  local & Imerys Group EHS norms, regulations & standards

  • Set and monitor plant  annual budgets and ensure that costs are controlled & optimized

  • Supervise production planning, define and ensure the achievement of plant production and quality targets 

  • Control production & maintenance costs, built 3 years Progress Plan, participate in budget follow up and manage and implement capex plan.

  • Continuously improve the production processes by applying Lean Manufacturing methods 

  • Ensure that robust maintenance planning routines and methods (Inspections & preparation) are in place to optimize/maximize plant performance

  • Propose and implement modifications and/or investments for plant equipment improvement & optimisation

  • Responsible for the products quality control & ensuring technical issues are resolved quickly 

  • Ensure coordination of purchasing of raw materials and delivery/supply of products to customers (logistics process)

  • Manage the plant workforce, in close collaboration with Ops Management & local HR Manager

  • Represent the entity during annual salary review negotiations with the employee representatives & unions as well as during the collective agreement reviews

  • Establish and maintain positive community relations 

Knowledge required :

  • Degree /Diploma engineer in Mining/Processing/Engineering/Mechanical

  • Proven effective performance within the mineral processing industry ideal

  • At least 5 years of professional experience as process/production manager in a demanding industry

  • Ideally experience of small plant management with P&L responsibility

  • Proven ability to make dynamic decisions when situation demands

  • Proven capability to influence decision makers in order to improve economical and technical efficiency of the plant

  • Ability to manage action towards priorities and implement change in industrial organizations

Skills and abilities:

Fluent/professional use of French and English

Good standard of IT skills, numeracy and literacy
