The Position

Industrial Continuous Improvement and Quality Manager

Job Summary

As Industrial  Continuous Improvement and Quality Manager your role will be to support the Imerys Industrial Improvement program (I3) and quality improvement  across Imerys Performance Minerals operations in Asia.

You are expected to demonstrate a strong visible leadership to make your perimeter more competitive, safer, more customer oriented and unified. You will promote best industrial rituals  and operational discipline to deliver sustainable visible changes on the field.

People empowerment and enablement is a cornerstone of our CI program therefore you must be able to organise successful knowledge transfer to our teams, making them proactive in improving our operations.

This is a feeder role for our future top operations managers. After a successful period in this position we expect you to grow into Operations roles.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Continuous Improvement Manager is a key position of industrial change management deployment and supports the I3 HUB Managers in the following tasks:

  • Promote implementation of industrial basics  like : Gemba walk, Rituals of Management, 5S.

  • Ensure sustainable Imerys Industrial Improvement program (ICube) roll-out: investigations and interviews, performance of the plant on each of the targets defined in the Group reference documents. 

  • Together with Hub teams, define key priorities and design any short term and long term balanced action plan to be put in place.

  • Make sure goals are set to our highest standards, that processes are in line with benchmark, that results are achieved on time and that actions put in place are sustainable.

  • Implement, promote and track the Saving Roadmap, OEE and all industrial  KPIs and routines 

  • Contribute to the enablement and empowerment of our workers through relevant coaching and training sessions

  • Maintain existing google base tools used at Asia level as well as at site level

  • Propose and lead the development of new tools able to facilitate the transformation of data into valuable information for our team to take data driven decision

Accountability shared with the HUB I3 Managers and HUB Directors

  • Define the vision of CI in the region and within HUB

  • Industrial basics (Rituals)  implementation & sustainability

  • Cost savings delivered as  budgeted

  • Sustainability of savings  pipeline of idea  

  • OEE improvement (Availability, Performance, Quality)

Education: 

  • With Master’s degree in Mechanical, Process, Material or Chemical Engineering

Experience: 

  • More than 3 years seniority,  in an industrial environment, on the field and close to industrial  operations .

  • A demonstrated project management experience and leadership on the field is requested

Technical skills: 

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified, highly appreciated.

  • Knowledge about Statistical Process Control would be a plus

  • Advanced proficiency with Google Suite would be a plus.

Language:

  • Fluent in English is mandatory.

  • Mandarin, Thai or Bahasa language is a plus
