Company:
In September 2022, Imerys Group (www.imerys.com) published a press release confirming to start an exclusive negotiations with Syntagma Capital (www.syntagmacapital.com) for the potential sale of certain assets producing kaolin, ground calcium carbonate (“GCC”), precipitated calcium carbonate (“PCC”), and talc, which primarily serve the paper markets in North Americas, South America, Asia and Europe.
This new company formed by all these industrial sites, kaolin mine, port access and Hubs is foreseen to start its operation under a new brand on March 31th, 2023. The revenue in 2021 was 400 million euros. It will offer mineral solutions for industries worldwide. All the sites are already working and producing. About 950 employees total.
Besides serving lots of the paper and board markets nowadays, this new company will use its global footprint, unique assets and longstanding know-how to develop new business opportunities and foster innovation. Sustainability is a core value of this Company.
Regarding employment, the Company needs to reinforce existing teams to operate as a standalone organization but also to meet its ambitious development plans.
Branding and name of the Company are currently defined and will be communicated largely very soon.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Financial Planning and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Collaborate with department heads to create accurate revenue, expense, and cash flow forecasts.
- Conduct financial analysis, identify trends, and provide insights to support strategic planning
2. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Analyze key financial metrics, variances, and performance indicators to identify areas of improvement.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making at all levels of the organization.
3. Business Partnering:
- Collaborate with department leaders to develop financial strategies that align with their objectives.
- Support operational teams by providing financial analysis and guidance to optimize resource allocation.
- Identify opportunities to drive cost efficiencies and improve profitability across the organization
4. Financial Modeling and Risk Assessment:
- Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and scenario analysis.
- Assess financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies to ensure the company's financial stability.
- Conduct sensitivity analysis and stress testing to evaluate the impact of various scenarios on financial performance
5. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Set performance goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
- Identify training and development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and knowledge
6. Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial planning and reporting processes, implementing best practices.
- Drive the implementation and optimization of financial planning and analysis systems and tools.
Qualifications & Experience:
Min 10 years of proven experience as an FP&A Director or similar role in manufacturing environment with a global multi-sites footprint. A strong experience in managing and developing a Finance team
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is the minimum requested (Master's degree preffered). Finance qualifications such as ACA, ACCA/FCCA would be of a plus.
Skills & Person Specification:
Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Proficient in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and risk assessment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong cost and cash optimization culture, strongly result oriented
- Ability to structure central functions and tools
- IT savvy - advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (being process oriented and knowing how to use / optimize ERP data)
- Proven experience in international environment, mutli sites, muti currencies, etc
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and influence decision-making processes.
- Hands-on, proactive, reactive, able to deal with uncertainty.
- Past experience in Private Equity environment can be a plus, but is not mandatory
