To lead the research & development projects in the field of abrasive materials based on oxide and non-oxide ceramics and modifications thereof, we are looking for a:

Science & Technology (S&T) Engineer - Abrasives (m/f/d)

Location: Villach, Austria

Contract type: Permanent (Full-time)

The work will be performed in an international environment within the Imerys group and involves also internal and external communication, technical customer support from R&D side and operational support to Imerys production sides.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Development of ceramic abrasive materials mainly based on oxide ceramics

• Development of new and improvement of current technologies for production

• Leading of developments from idea to industrialisation in close co-operation with Imerys internal and external customers

• Feasibility studies, lab and pilot development and application testing

• Coordination with customers and application engineers

• Transfer of developed materials and processes to production 

• Technical customer support

• Organisation of internal and external resources (academic networks, internal networks)

• Leading of a small team

COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCES 

• Academic background (material science, material physics, mineralogy, chemistry or similar)

• Experience in abrasive applications and project management is a benefit

• An existing academic network is a benefit

• Teamplayer

• Communicative

• Mobility 

• English level: fluent
