Underground Exploitation EngineerJob Summary
Role overview:
Organize and supervise mining activities of underground mines to achieve the production targets in a safe and efficient manner, in compliance with the mining legal regulations and company policies.
Location: Fokida
Responsibilities:
Manage all daily mining operations on site.
Ensure the proper implementation & monitoring of all the necessary ground support measures to secure the stability of the surrounding rocks, according to the relevant Mine Designs and Geotechnical Assessments.
Define operating rules of all equipment in the assigned mines.
The management and contract administration of sub-contractors in the areas in charge.
Oversee the proper implementation of safety procedures and Ensure that the relevant risk assessments and safe methods of work exist and are in use.
Responsible for compliance with safety instructions and provisions of the mining & quarry regulation (ΚΜΛΕ) and IMERYS EHS protocols, in particular Serious 7, Blasting, Mobile Equipment, and Underground Mining.
With the support from Mining H&S officers and mining managers, ensure the HSE system is in place for training and competence for all operators (IMERYS and Contractor) to meet IMERYS and National standards/compliance.
Responsible for managing the annual production budget (quality, volumes & costs) per mine(s) assigned.
Responsible for the proper selection and characterization of extracted ROM bauxite, and for minimizing the limestone contamination, and taking any corrective measures according to the chemical analysis results.
Acts in close cooperation with Maintenance supervisors to ensure maximum availability/utilization of mobile equipment.
Effectively manage direct reports and team members by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback, and providing development through training.
Lead and motivate employees towards permanently safe and maxed productivity operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Mining Engineering Degree.
Ideally 3-5 years past supervisory experience, most preferably in underground mining operations.
An active member of the relevant professional body (Technical Champers of Greece - TEE).
Solid knowledge of working in respect to the GR mining & quarries regulation (ΚΜΛΕ)
Technical understanding in the fields of geology, rock mechanics, and ground support.
Experience within the mining industry, most preferably in underground mining operations.
Good use of the English language.
