The Position

Strategic Innovation Marketing Manager H/F

Job Summary

In charge of coordinating and leading transversal projects across our 4 sub-segments on key strategic initiatives in support to the marketing director, interfacing with 4 marketing managers.

Projects such as new product development projects, process optimization (ex: agile innovation, actionable market intelligence, sustainable roadmap promotion)

Responsible for the strategy on transversal projects + process optimization

Transversal projects :

  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative information from Imerys and 3rd party sources to understand demand trends, production, capacity and trade flows situation as well as mineral usage mapping.
  • Analyse competitive environment and market shares, competitive behavior, strengths and weaknesses.
  • Develop strategy for the transversal projects in collaboration with the segment Sales, R&D tech support Directors and Marketing managers/Director.

Process optimization :

  • Identify best practices / define standards to leverage across our 4 sub-segments in collaboration with the marketing director, among others the market intelligence process and tools for regular updates.

Structure, optimize and coordinate innovation effort

  • Define and implement an optimized innovation process with stronger and measurable impact on the business including : ideation process, pipeline management, meeting routines, presentation templates.
  • Coordinate the implementation and ongoing adjustment with R&D directors and marketing managers.

Define market roadmap and commercial tools on Sustainability

  • Conduct an analysis with benchmarks on :
  • current expectations in terms of sustainability (messages, actions, ratings standards)
  • internal needs identified by sales
  • Create our market sustainability roadmap with our CSR experts and the corresponding support documents to promote it.

Key competencies:

  • Project management skills with hand on mindset experience in implementing, quantifying positive impact
  • Ability to understand complex organisation and technical products, to structure, simplify, adapt.
  • Ability to think out of the box, innovate, multitask, high energy level, autonomous, self-starter
  • Strong business sense and ability to interact effectively with people from all backgrounds and levels
  • Collaborative style and good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to positively influence others w/o direct reporting lines, especially Sales and Technical teams
  • Experience in conducting transversal projects in an international matrix organisation with proven success in change management.
  • Experience in strategic marketing : new product development & launch, 5 year plan strategy

Ideal background/ experience:

  • MBA or Master Degree in Business / Marketing

and/or Engineering degree or PhD in material science / chemistry + Marketing

  • 8-10 years experience in industrial marketing/project management in the industry and/or BtoC with technical products
  • Full professional proficiency in English
  • Ideally, experience in the plastics, adhesives, rubber or paints industries and value chain
  • Preferred location: Paris
