The Position

Hub Manager - EHS

Job Summary

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

People Management  

  • Leadership role ensuring compliance to EHS within the Country 

  • Responsible for ensuring all required EHS training is completed and in compliance with all  standards and policies related to EHS 

  • Development of teams in line with departmental and individual plans (competencies  and skills) 

  • Facilitates managers and employees including contractors training and development (awareness, behavior based safety BBS)  in EHS for all sites within the country.  

  • Drive all training of the senior Management / Leadership of the country - Visible Felt Leadership

  • Drive the consequence management process  

Process Management  

  • Provide detailed EHS input into site's long-term safety culture improvement plan process

  • Advise and support the site management team on all EHS issues within their areas of  responsibility (incl. accident investigations, and risk assessments) 

  • Provide  guidance and direction in Environmental programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach.

  • Ensure all EHS related data appropriately reported and validated before submission into Enablon.

  • Develop and support training plans for sites emergency response training/drills; and coordination of modular training programs for the Operation.

  • Rollout new initiatives from the group /region related to EHS based on gaps/issues identified. 

  • Monitor, track, and ensure legal compliance as per country laws and regulations

  • Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits, licenses and regulatory requirements. 

  • Exercise functional authority to stop work in any area if conditions/behaviors are unsafe (Stop  work authority) – in line with Zero Accident culture including providing advice based on Imerys protocol and practical approach  to improve them.

  • Performance Management  

  • Responsible for setting and achieving EHS KPIs (Bottom Up Reports, Serious 7 Inspection, VFL/BBS) at their respective site in line with Country, Region, and Group targets 

  • Responsible for achieving CSR mid term target for all EHS related KPIs.

  • Ensure all existing and new EHS protocols implementation at satisfactory compliance level at all sites within the country. Conduct gap analysis and periodic review on the EHS protocol compliances.

  • Ensure EHS KPIs are implicitly understood and managed efficiently at an appropriate  level (i.e.: LTAR, CO2 emission, waste, wastewater, etc.) 

  • Responsible for EHS data reporting at the country / regional level

  • Initiates local EHS performance reviews, identifies trends, initiates and participates in problem-solving activities 

  • Setting and managing the EHS department financial budget (OPEX) 

  • Supporting and advising Functional Heads in EHS improvement projects (related to  OPEX and CAPEX) 

Functional Specific Management  

  • Conduct field observations, inspections, coaching, and guidance for shop floor employees and contractors. 

  • Supports local Management teams liaise with service providers and contractors to  ensure their compliance with local systems 

  • Responsible for managing the local plan of EHS audits 

  • Share significant incidents and lessons  learned, share expertise, participate in cross-audits  

  • Liaise with relevant local authorities and maintain cordial relations with no noncompliance  

  • Be responsible & provide expertise during the execution of CAPEX projects

  • Advises and is a member of the local Crisis Management Team or/Emergency  Response Team in case of critical or serious H&S or E incident 

  • Driving CompanyExcellence development in his/her area of responsibility

  • Support the sites to identify Sustainable Development projects for annual Sustainable Development Challenge.

  • Responsible for maintaining ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 (or ISO45001) certifications (if any) including audit follow up.

  • Travel to different sites including to corporate and operational offices as required and perform any additional duties as required.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Experience requirements:

  • A Bachelors/Master degree(Safety/related stream)

  • Experience can be 5-8 yrs with 2-3 yrs in Managerial/leading position (Leading a team)". 

  • Strong in EHS related industrial compliances and EHS legal requirements

 

Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics:

  • Team player and able to build and maintain relationships both internal and external.

  • Flexible to change and open to constructive feedback

  • Proactive, able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Willingness to periodically travel within assigned sites within country (up to 30%)

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills including influencing and change management

  • CoWorking and Problem solving Skills

  • Significant experience in Incident Investigation methodologies.
