Transportation Purchasing Analyst

Job Summary

All Transport Category:

The Transportation Purchasing Analyst will assist with the transport team with below responsibilities and find opportunity for process improvements for below task. 

  • Manage SAP updates in cooperation with the Shared Service Centers

  • Maintain route guides and data integrity

  • Assist with spot rate request

  • Category analytics 

  • Bid assistance

 

Container Category-South America and Mexico:

The Transportation Purchasing Analyst will assist the America Container Category Manager during the annual global RFQ’s. He/she will perform the following main tasks:

  • Communication with all stakeholders (internal and external) for South America and Mexico

  • Data collection from the different Business Areas on volumes and requirements for South America and Mexico

  • Organization and participation in the negotiations with the Shipping Lines (containers). 

  • Shipping Lines selection and contract management/ implementation (containers) 

  • Drive and manage implementation of the new Supplier Relationship Management system Ivalua for the Transport Category.

  • Work closely with Container-RCM for America and share knowledge with her. 

Barging/Rail/Truck- South America and Mexico:

The Transportation Purchasing Analyst will manage the Mexico and South America local negotiation through alignment and discuss with the RCM for various transportation modes and with the Transport Category Leader and help Imerys  maintain competitive market position and provide market updates. 

  • Create and follow the main market indicators for various transport categories. 

  • Follow up with selected suppliers to ensure terms and conditions are met and service quality through (KPIs)

  • Analyze and report on outcome of RFQ processes comparing results with previous conditions and with budget.

  • Assist in or perform financial or operational reporting activities

  • Assist in the annual budgeting process 

  • Support in quarterly QBR reporting process

  • Where possible assist in reporting or data management of regional transport categories (road and rail transport).

  • Build relationship with local suppliers and monitor market transportation rate changes.

Safety and Quality and Environment :

  • Contribute and support that Imerys standards and requirements in terms of safety and quality is accepted and implemented by our logistics partners.

  • To handle/manage the major claims related with the service of our logistic partners for container transport. 

  • Monitor and administrate KPI’s on achieving environmental carbon footprint targets in line with the corporate objectives
