The Position

Regional Category Manager for Industrial Equipment & Services Capex H/F

Job Summary

The Regional Category Managers is in charge of all Capex expenses in connection with the industrial projects he/she is affected to in his/her region

The Regional Category Managers has a key role in enforcing the Capex purchasing playbook during the preparation and execution of the industrial projects.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Ensure that all his/her major Industrial Projects above 250k€ are prepared and executed following the Purchasing playbook during the preparation and execution of the industrial projects

  • Be the single point of contact for the purchasing activities on his/her industrial projects

  • In coordination with Project Managers, define the Purchasing strategies on projects

  • Prepare the purchasing plan in collaboration with Project Managers and PPMs, fills it and update it in the Capex Purchasing tool

  • Organize routines with Project Managers and PPMs and/or EPCM contractors to review the purchasing activities

  • Perform the sourcing of suppliers, challenge the technical team to qualify new suppliers.

  • Be proactive in avoiding mono-sources situations

  • Prepare and negotiate major Capex contracts on his/ her projects (above 250k€)

  • Ensure consistency of the terms and conditions across the group for a same supplier

  • Support Project Managers in case escalation towards suppliers is required

  • Fill his/her savings in the Capex Purchasing tool (O2T).

  • Develop key regional supplier relationship management and establish performance review with the strategic suppliers 

  • Drive improvement of specifications developed by project managers to reach a standard level within Imerys Group in terms of safety and expressing of need

  • Ensure the Implementation of the Capex Purchasing Process on his/her projects

  • Ensure the achievement of the Sustainability KPIs

  • Support the proper implementation of the transversal excellence programs for his/her team

  • Support the Purchasing Plant Managers on their negotiations or in case of claims with suppliers

  • Support/ Coach PPMs on their Capex projects to help them get familiar with Capex purchasing process

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree required in Engineering, Technical or Business with a purchasing specialization

  • Minimum of 5 years Capex purchasing experience

  • Experience in a multicultural environment

  • Ability to manage several projects in parallel.

  • Experience in a continuous improvement environment with a track record of achieving significant year over year results

  • Result oriented

  • Fluent in English and in another language (French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese or Chinese)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytic and negotiation skills
