Job Summary

POSITION TITLE: EHS Technician 

LOCATION: Position Based in Lompoc, CA

JOB  SUMMARY:

EHS Technician supports all aspects of the EHS regulatory compliance function for PMA sites as needed.  The position supports development, implementation and administration of EHS compliance programs, regulatory analysis, compliance with permits/licenses, audits, industrial hygiene workplace sampling and other aspects of EHS management.  

Ideal Candidates will have excellent written and communications skills; attention to detail; ability to interact with other employees, outside vendors, regulatory agency representatives and legal counsel; the ability to work in and understand mining and production; and be able to work with databases, spreadsheets, presentations, documents and various other software programs.  Must be able manage multiple projects and prioritize to diligently meet regulatory deadlines.  Position requires the ability to conduct employee training effectively. Has the ability to be self driven to drive continuous improvement and meet deadlines.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer a wide range of EHS compliance and training programs at both MSHA and OSHA facilities. 

  • Support accident investigations and assist site leadership with incident management

  • Compile, analyze and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents.

  • Participate in EHS regular audits/inspections of facilities and support corrective actions.

  • Coordinate/participate in MSHA or other regulatory agency inspections as needed.

  • Actively participate in the Site Safety Committee.

  • Establish and maintain digital filing systems. 

  • Other related duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in an appropriate technical discipline (such as Safety , Environmental or other related fields of study) or equivalent appropriate professional experience in a similar environment. 

  • Working knowledge of Federal and State H&S regulations, preferred

  • Mining/heavy industrial experience preferred

  • Travel - 10%

California Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company result
