Job Summary

CONTEXT

Part of the Business Area Refractory, Abrasives & Construction (RAC, approximately 40 sites in total, including S&T facilities in 18 countries worldwide, 4,600 employees and €1.3b revenue). The role is part of the global QEHS team in the RAC BA Center of Excellence, composed of around eight EHS professionals covering all geographic zones.

The BA H&S team supports all aspects of the Imerys Safety System as well as the regulatory compliance in the countries where the Imerys sites are located. This role will report to the H&S Manager Europe and provide pertinent H&S services to approximately 20 sites in Europe covering 2,000 employees, as well as contractors and other business partners under our operational control. Time to time, this role will also contribute to some global transversal tasks and projects.

MISSIONS

  • Assist the regional H&S Manager to support the operations, drive the cultural maturity and continuous improvement through rituals, routines and close follow-up;

  • Monitor and review the H&S related KPIs, performance and action plans/dashboards; consolidate and report the performance to the management on a regular basis; escalate pertinent issues when necessary;

  • Drive the conformity to the Group H&S protocols by sharing good practices and lean process across the operations and facilitate the deployment of new protocols or common management processes;

  • Follow up closely specific projects or tasks to evolve the H&S conformity and maturity at priority sites under operational constraints and replicate the best practices between sites/hubs;

  • Act as the ambassador and super user of Enablon, the group EHS central platform, to support the user-experience improvement, the management reporting and new module development for H&S;

  • Support to animate the H&S community with clear rituals, such as the monthly calls, the hub-specific EHS action review, the internal auditing, etc.;

  • Liaison with the H&S network and the the internal communication function to build and develop high standard of training and communication toolkits;

  • Support other local initiatives in alignment with the Group or BA strategy for corporate social responsibility, industrial excellence, and risk mitigation.

  • Participate to the BA internal cross-review programs in the region, as well as some group cross-functional team per nomination by the Business Area industrial management

PROFILE

  • Strong problem-solving and hands-on implementation skills;

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to engage the regional EHS contacts and interact in a cross-functional and inter-cultural environment;

  • Structured, self-motivated and strong commitment to EHS compliance, risk control, continuous improvement and step evolution;

  • Bachelor degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (such as chemical / environmental / mechanical engineering / other Health & Safety related area) or equivalent education and experience; relevant professional certification as a plus;

  • 3+ years’ EHS coordination experience in materials-related industries in France;

  • Well organised, evaluating and prioritising a number of projects;

  • Fluent in writing and speaking in French and English, other language capability as a plus;

  • Proficient in the use of Google Suites, common collaboration tools, social networks and media for efficient collaboration and effective communication;

  • Overnight travel is up to 40%.
