The Position
Lithium Project Lead Purchasing Manager H/FJob Summary
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
IMERYS is developing a new green-field Lithium production project in France (EMILI).
The work on the pilot plant (investment of ~100M€ magnitude) is already well advanced and site construction is planned in 2025.
The commercial plant represents an investment of over 1B€, and the entry in production of the site is planned in 2028. In 2025, we intend to contract the Basic Engineering and the EPCm of the commercial plant.
IMERYS is looking for a seasoned Purchasing professional to take the lead of Purchasing activities for the whole project, namely: EPCm Contracts, Material supply contracts, Service contracts and construction works contracts

Direct report to the Group Purchasing Director for Industrial Equipment & Services.
Functional report to the EMILI Project director.
Functional collaboration:
Industrial Project Managers of the Project
Project Purchasing Manager of the Project
Project Management Team
Legal Counsel in EMEA
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Define, in coordination with the Industrial Project Director of the Project the purchasing strategy for EMILI.
Be the partner of the Industrial Project Director of the Project, by steering and coordinating Purchasing activities for the whole project, with support of the Purchasing Team.
For EPCm contract already awarded (Pilot plant): manage all EPCm purchasing activities during basic engineering and EPCm phase: this includes the proper implementation of IMERYS Purchasing Policy, validation of the purchasing plan(s), participation to progress meetings, participation to the definition of the vendor and subcontractor lists, participation to vendor qualifications.
For commercial plant: Manage the RFQ of the basic engineering / EPCm, in relation with the Project Team, the Purchasing Team and the Legal Team, until contract award. After contract award, the activities may continue with the management of the EPCm purchasing activities.
Monitor progress on the execution of the purchasing plan, and share visibility with stakeholders.
Manage risks and opportunities.
Lead claims resolution
Main KPIs are the respect of the project timeline, and savings negotiation performance.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering plus Purchasing specialization / experience.
Minimum 15 years of experience in EPC/EPCm projects management and contract management.
Experience in the purchasing and negotiation of industrial equipment with performance guarantees, and in the subcontracting of construction works.
Proven experience in planning and leading complex negotiations
Experience in the mining / metal processing industry is a plus.
