Operating since the mid-1990s, Imerys Bentonite Hungary Kft. joined the Imerys group in 2015, following its acquisition from S&B.
Located in Egyházaskesző in northwest Hungary, the operation specializes in the mining and processing of sodium and calcium bentonite for a variety of sectors — with civil engineering applications representing approximately 90% of its production.

Operated by Imerys Tűzállóanyaggyártó Kft., our processing facility in Hódmezővásárhely harnesses 60 years’ experience in kiln furniture manufacturing.
Since its acquisition by Imerys in 2004, the site has grown to become a global benchmark for cordierite and silicon carbide kilnware for ceramics production.
Leveraging high quality raw materials and cutting-edge technologies, including 3D modeling, Imerys Kiln Furniture Hungary provides advanced solutions to more than 200 customers in 40 countries across the globe.
Teams from our dedicated design office develop solutions in direct partnership with clients to address their exact specifications — including designing the manufacturing tools here on the premises — whilst offering on-site technical support and creative problem-solving.
The facility is the world’s leading producer of high performance kiln furniture for the roof tile and tableware industries, and supplies engineered solutions for technical ceramics and sanitaryware.

Our Hungarian kiln furniture site employs over 250 specialists, many of whom have developed their expertise through our on-site training initiatives. Building on established partnerships with academic institutions, we are committed to broadening our training and internship programs, so as to provide students with valuable practical work placements within our operations.
