Job Summary:

Imerys, the world leader in mineral-based specialties for industry, is willing to redefine its content strategy in order to ensure a strong positioning of the brand and reinforce its reputation amongst its stakeholders.

Within this framework, Imerys is seeking its Head of Press & Crisis Communications for the Group, as part of the Communication department, he or she will have to define a clear PR strategy to position the Group through clear storytelling, messages, tone of voice, as well as help build awareness and a positive reputation for Imerys globally. He or she will coordinate PR globally, issues management and directly handle media relations in France and Europe.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for PR and crisis communications.
  • Coordinate all media relations efforts including top-tier print, broadcast, regional and trade publications with the Business Areas Communications heads.
  • Identify and provide relevant business content to promote Imerys brand awareness and reputation
  • Identify significant media and public policy issues that can be leveraged to support the business, and create and implement plans to leverage.
  • Provide support and advice to field and country teams on their daily PR communications.
  • Support the Financial Communications team.  This will include annual and interim results, trading updates and acquisitions.
  • Ensure that there are agreed and up-to-date crisis communications policies and procedures, together with required written materials. Ensure that key spokespeople are prepared with crisis media training and practice.
  • Collaborate with outside advisors and senior leadership at the Group and regional level to oversee and implement issues management and litigation support efforts.
  • Reputation and brand awareness management: identify and manage opportunities to raise the company profile among target stakeholder audiences and enhance its expert positioning through speaker opportunities, expert comment, conferences etc.
  • Define appropriate KPIs to measure the performance of the different communication actions and adapt if necessary.
  • Work on transversal projects in an international and collaborative team within a dynamic and evolving context.

Job Specifications:


Education: Master’s degree with a specialization in PR, Media communications or journalism. 

Experience: 10+ years in a PR or Crisis communications agency or international company with PR and crisis  experience.

Technical skills: excellent writing skills

Language: Perfectly fluent in French and English (native English or French)

  • Excellent writing skills in both French and English as well as the ability to translate abstract business concepts into meaningful ‘everyday’ language.

  • Demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Strong organization skills: self-directed and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment whilst managing multiple projects.
  • Experience of international environments and cultural differences.
