KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical equipment and electronic wiring
• Connect wiring in electrical circuits, transformers, networks and other components
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools as needed
• Prevent system failures by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.
• Install safety and distribution components such as switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.
• Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, malfunctions, and/or the need for adjustment or repair
• Advise management on potential safety issues or equipment defects and make recommendations for improvement(s)
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
• Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
• Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
• Provide assistance during emergencies by operating floodlights and generators, placing flares, and driving needed vehicles.
• Assist with/complete other mechanical repairs as needed to ensure plant efficiency

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong tow motor operation skills and mechanical aptitude
• Experience loading and unloading flatbed trailers and panel trucks
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organize priorities
• Must be able to work well with others and follow directions

EDUCATION/SKILL REQUIRED:

• Minimum 5 years experience
• Journeyman electrician experience, preferred
