The Position

Commercial Development Manager

Job Summary

Position Title: Commercial Development Manager

Location: Remote (Ideal locations include Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville area)

Summary: Develop plans and strategies for new commercial opportunities to achieve sales goals.  This individual will lead industry research, pricing and growth analysis, creation of strategic presentations, and contract negotiations with strong ability to build both internal and external relationships.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, lead and coordinate the sales process from prospect qualification to closing complex deals across a cross functional team.
  • Develop new product ideas and service propositions that help solve customer problems and drive the growth of the business.  
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships and present/demo to potential partners and customers with new products, new markets, new usages of our products
  • Proactively identify and build relationships with clients and effectively leverage internal partners to generate new sales opportunities
  • Game-plan and execute an account strategy to deliver maximum revenue potential
  • Proactive daily CRM input to manage and organize your pipeline
  • Understand the competitive environment at major accounts and be able to predict competitive responses to strategic tactics, i.e. price increases; product offerings

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Chemistry , Masters or MBA Preferred
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in sales and business development with a technical product 
  • Self-motivated with takes aggressive approach to generating new sales (not afraid to “cold call” customers)
  • Technical and inquisitive approach 
  • Strong project and team management skills to ensure that we effectively mobilize the team around the customer to drive growth.
  • Strong technical skills to understand how our products add value to the customer.
  • Consultative sales approach with a primary emphasis on strong account leadership skills and on converting strategic accounts
  • Ability to plan and coordinate complex sales development with multiple key requirements (technical, economical, contractual, logistics etc…)
