Mission

In the frame of a challenging and international transformation project aimed at bringing benefits to everyone who interacts with the Group, especially for our customers with greater focus on sales activities and customer-driven innovation efforts, we are looking for our Communication Director to support this exciting new journey.

The senior communications professional drives the function ensuring  strategic support of the business area (internal and external needs and expectations) while ensuring consistency and alignment with the Group.

The Communication Director reports to the Business Development and Marketing Vice President HTS Business Team and she/he is member of the Global Communications Leadership network, reporting functionally into the Group Communications Vice President .

Responsibilities

He/she will:

  • Coordinate and support the implementation of the Group Communications strategy in order to foster the delivery of corporate culture and business strategy by creating a strong customer experience generating value for the clients and Imerys
  • In close cooperation with the Group Communications Department, lead the rebranding project of the Business area and the implementation of the action plan validated internally and externally
  • Define and implement communications plans for the Business Area to increase brand awareness and recognition for the organisation.
  • Develop and be accountable for the communications strategy (internally and externally) including messages, existing channels, change management and tools for the Business Area in line with Group framework and the global transformation. Works closely with all members of the BA leadership team
  • Organize structure and manage communications contacts within the Business Area and ensure cascading of information to all employees towards all facilities.
  • Collate and analyse current communications and messages to ensure consistency.
  • Act as the focal point for managing press and crisis communication in the business area (following agreed crisis communications process). Develop relationships with key media to secure and grow media coverage both online and offline.Develop, coordinate and implement when appropriate effective customer-related communication campaigns in collaboration with Marketing teams – including trade show and event organisation, advertising, literature, press relations, website management, surveys…
  • Keep abreast of and propose innovative technologies in collaboration with the Group and other BAs to promote competitive differentiation for the business and its products in the marketplace to generate new opportunities and leads.
  • Advise leaders and Senior leadership team, while adhering to global communications practice standards – be part of the region decision making process, participating in appropriate leadership forums.
  • Be the voice of the Group’s main initiatives: Safety, customer excellence, innovation, CSR, IT….
  • Advise other departments (e.g. Sales, Operations, Safety, etc.) on communications
  • Work closely with other Heads of Communications to ensure coordination and alignment of messages and activities.

Education, background, level of experience

Qualifications

  • Expert in all areas of communications scope: Corporate communication, Products communications / Operational marketing, Internal communications
  • Deep understanding of the relevant industry and business practices
  • Ability to think and act globally for the benefit of Imerys overall, while providing highly relevant advice to the Business Area management, employees, stakeholders and customers
  • Ability to interact with senior leaders and engage in high-level business focused discussions and decisions.
  • Previous industry or B2B working experience as a plus
  • More than 10  years of experiences as a communication manager/Director
